Eligibility Criteria for Lam Research Recruitment 2024:
- BE/ B.Tech in Mechanical/ Production/ Industrial Engineering with a minimum 65% aggregate. Graduating in 2025 without any backlogs
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and methods
- Application of Manufacturing Technology, Strength of Materials, Theory of Machines to address manufacturing challenges
- Knowledge of machining, welding, moulding, sheet-metal fabrication & casting processes
- Understanding of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly with an approach to structured problem-solving and decision-making
- Fundamental data analytics and statistical skills
Job Description:
This position will be based in Bangalore. It will directly report to the first-line managers of the LIGO Manufacturing Engineering team and work closely with LIGO Manufacturing Engineers. LIGO Manufacturing Engineers collaborate with build factories across geographies to design and develop fixtures, ensure build readiness, and resolve assembly issues. We are in constant pursuit of manufacturing excellence through continuous improvements and innovations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on projects that include prototyping and assembly
- Experience with 3D Modelling, Assembly using any CAD package
- Use of simulation tools such as Ansys, Nastran, Creo Simulate etc
- Internship in manufacturing/assembly set-up
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement safe and cost-effective simple fixtures and methods of assembly for all phases of manufacturing
- Perform virtual build of sub-assemblies/assemblies and define sequence of operations for Pilot builds
- Define process and methods for high volume manufacturing which includes operations method sheet, routing, and sequencing
- Interface with manufacturing teams from Global Factory network to address issues pertaining to assembly sequence, fixtures, and product design
- Participate actively in Idea generation forums and contribute to process improvement initiatives
- Understand Lam products and its manufacturing process
