Job Description:
We are looking for a Graduate Engineer Trainee, GET for our agile team based in Chennai, India. As a GET you will have an opportunity to learn, grow and succeed as a product cost engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) whose roles and responsibilities looks similar but not limited to below
Plan cases together with other team members, request and acquire data like 2D/3D models, work as a team member to perform Should Cost Analysis utilizing best practices, tools and methods. Validate and review your product cost with the stakeholders. When requested, participate in supplier negotiations with Sourcing, design reviews with Technology & Innovation teams, etc. Participate in development of new Should Cost Analysis methods, tools, and processes, and in calibration of Should Costing assumptions e.g. by doing time studies, teardown activities, etc.
Primary Skills:
Deep knowledge of manufacturing process e.g. sheet metal, machining, plastics, PCBA, wire harness, etc. Good communication skills to work efficiently with team members and internal & external stakeholders Motivation to work in and with agile, cross-functional, and multicultural teams Proficient in MS Office Organized, team player and self-motivated
Secondary Skills
Understanding of mechanical or electrical product cost analysis concepts Understanding of electrical component price benchmarking. Product cost management software (aPriori or other) experience preferred
