Indian Navy Recruitment 2024: The Indian Navy is the naval branch of the Indian Armed Forces. The President of India is the Supreme Commander of the Indian Navy. The Chief of Naval Staff, a four-star Admiral, commands the navy. The primary objective of the navy is to safeguard the nation’s maritime borders, and in conjunction with other Armed Forces of the union, act to deter or defeat any threats or aggression against the territory, people or maritime interests of India, both in war and peace.

Through joint exercises, goodwill visits and humanitarian missions, including disaster relief, Indian Navy promotes bilateral relations between nations. The Navy has the following three Commands, each under the control of a Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief. The Western and the Eastern Naval Commands are ‘Operational Commands’, and exercise control over operations in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal respectively. The Southern Command is the Training Command.

Eligibility Criteria for Indian Navy Recruitment 2024:

Executive Branch: 

General Service {GS(X)/Hydro Cadre}:

  • BE/ B.Tech in any discipline with a minimum 60% marks

Pilot/ Naval Air Operations Officer (Air Crew)/Air Traffic Controller (ATC):

  • BE/ B.Tech in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks. (Candidate must have 60% aggregate marks in class X and XII and minimum 60% marks in English in class X or class XII).

Logistics:

  • BE/ B.Tech in any discipline with First Class or
  • MBA with First Class, or
  • B.Sc/ B.Com/ B.Sc. (IT) with First class along with PG Diploma in Finance/ Logistics/ Supply Chain Management/Material Management, or
  • MCA/M.Sc (IT) with First Class.

Naval Armament Inspectorate Cadre (NAIC):

  • BE/B.Tech with minimum 60% marks in Mechanical / Mechanical with Automation / Electrical / Electrical & Electronics / Electronics / Micro Electronics / Instrumentation / Electronics & Communication / Electronics & Tele Communication /Instrumentation & Control / Control Engineering / Production / Industrial Production / Industrial Engineering / Applied Electronics & Instrumentation/ Electronics & Instrumentation / Information Technology / Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Computer Application / Metallurgy / Metallurgical / Chemical/ Material Science / Aero Space / Aeronautical Engineering OR Post Graduate degree in Electronics / Physics. Tenure of Commission: Selected candidates will be granted Short Service Commission initially for 10 years extendable by maximum for 04 years in 02 terms (02 years + 02 years) subject to service requirement, performance, medical eligibility and candidates’ willingness.

Probation Period: Probation period for SSC (NAIC) Officers is three years and for officers of other branches/cadres is two years. The probation period will commence from the date of grant of the rank of Sub Lieutenant and will terminate after three years for SSC(NAIC) and two years for other branches/cadres or on completion of initial training (whichever is later). During probation, the officers are liable to be discharged in case of unsatisfactory performance at any stage

Training:

  • Candidates will be inducted in the rank of Sub Lieutenant subject to clearing of induction medical examination at INA, Ezhimala post reporting
  • Only unmarried candidates are eligible for training.

Salary: The basic pay of Sub Lieutenant starts from Rs. 56,100/- along with other allowances as applicable. Further details are available on Indian Navy website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in

Selection Process for Indian Navy Recruitment 2024:

  • Shortlisting of application will be based on the preference of entries and normalized marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying degree. Marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying degree will be normalized using formulae mentioned on the Join Indian Navy website.
  • BE/ B.Tech. For candidates who have completed or are in the final year of BE/ B.Tech, marks obtained up to the fifth semester will be considered for SSB shortlisting.
  • Non-Engineering Degree Programme. For candidates who have completed MCA, MBA, MA, M.Sc, B.Sc, and B.Com, marks obtained in all semesters will be considered. For candidates who are in their final year, shortlisting will be based on pre-final year performance.
  • Candidates selected in the final merit list will be required to submit the proof of completing the qualifying degree with a minimum of 60% of marks by sending an email at the address officer@navy.gov.in . Candidates failing to meet the criteria will not be permitted to join the Academy.
  • No communication will be entertained in this regard.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their selection for SSB interview through email or SMS (provided by candidates in their application form). Candidates are advised not to change their e-mail/mobile number till the selection process is over.
